YOUHORSE.AUCTION: 36.000 EURO FOR ETOULON SON MAXIMUS

Jun 15, 2020 · Wendy Scholten · 2-3 Years & 4 years and Older (June, 2020)

The first part of the two-day Youhorse.auction was successfully concluded tonight. Most of the 2- and 3-yr-olds will go to new stables abroad, but the KWPN stallion Monseigneur de la Loge (by Ideal de la Loge) stays in the Netherlands. Mario Everse and Alan Waldman, the driving force behind Youhorse.auction, bought him jointly for 19,500 euro from seller Rinus Blom.

“The idea behind it all is that we accept the kind of horses for our auction that we would like to own ourselves. Such as this stallion from the Roosakker line. To be honest, we had expected a higher price. It is a real good horse. In the last twenty seconds of the auction we decided we wanted to get him for ourselves. We are dealers, after all, so this one is still for sale”, Mario Everse explains.

Auction topper was Maximus, a 3-yr-old grey stallion by Etoulon VDL x Berlin. A regular client of Alan Waldman and Mario Everse from the USA eventually outbid a buyer from the United Emirates for 36,000 euro. Soon after that, the Arabian bought Comme il Dame (Comme il Faut x Lancer II) for 10,000 euro.

Another highlight was the price of 31,000 euro paid for Musante (Hermantico x Tygo), which will leave for Canada. Mister Heartbreaker (Hernandez TN x Heartbreaker) will move to Great Britain for 20,000 euro, Mumba (Bubalu VDL x Iroko) found a new American owner for 18,500 euro.

“It was again an exciting evening, with more telephone calls beforehand than ever before. Most people only join the bidding at the last moment. Today we received  several clients to try our horses for tomorrow’s auction, but we also have appointments for tomorrow. That is positive. True, not all the horses went for high prices, but then this is a realistic auction. For the buyers that is really interesting, the horses have good bloodlines, you can see them jumping a few fences and they passed X-ray and clinical examination.”

Everse and Waldman are looking forward to the second part of the second part of the online auction on Tuesday-night 16 June, with 4-yr-old and older horses, even a few international showjumping horses.
