Santos VDB is a gelding foaled in 2022, by Emerald van 't Ruytershof out of a Mylord Carthago damsire. A handsome horse that is well put together and jumps a big fence with ease. He is careful and does everything with ease, with plenty of scope and a friendly character. He draws in well towards the fence. Suitable for the amateur, the advanced, the semi-professional and the professional rider.

Sire Emerald van 't Ruytershof jumped 1.60m Grand Prix under Harrie Smolders, with a runner-up finish in the World Cup Final of Gothenburg 2016 and a final placing at the Olympic Games of Rio 2016. He is one of the most sought-after showjumping sires and, as a son of Diamant de Semilly (out of a Carthago dam), passes on technique and attitude.

Damsire Mylord Carthago likewise jumped 1.60m at international 5* level under Pénélope Leprévost, with team silver at the WEG 2010 and the European Championship 2011 and an appearance at the Olympic Games of London 2012. This approved Selle Français is a son of Carthago Z.
