Big Star is one of the best showjumping horses in the world, with numerous victories at the highest level, such as a double gold medal under Nick Skelton. Nick refers to Big Star as “the best horse I have ever ridden”. It is evident that this exceptional stallion is passing on his athletic power and fantastic temperament to his offspring.

The dam of this Big Star Colt also has the right temperament and mentality: the celebrated Andrea, who was very successful under Gert-Jan Bruggink up to 1.60m level. The chestnut mare also jumped under Abdullah Alsharbatly and Emanuele Gaudiano at top level. Her sire, the 1.60m GP stallion Marome, doesn’t have a lot of offspring but many of them are jumping the highest courses. Andrea’s full brother Vampire, for example, performed at 1.60m level.

Their dam Laika (Voltaire x Jasper x Nimmerdor) also produced the international 1.40m level horses Zudith HS (Eurocommerce Washington) and Ferrero (Singapore). Laika herself is a half-sister to the 1.60m GP stallion Hemmelhorst Zojasper and three 1.40m to1.45m level horses.
